It was yet another weekend of goals and controversy in the Hollywoodbets Super League.

The match between Bloemfontein Celtic vs UJ was abondoned due to not meeting requirements to hold a professional football match. An bite in the Achilles hill for the Celtic side which has been surrounded by controversy from selling a men’s team PSL status to now failing to host a match.

Log leaders Sundowns Ladies are currently representing the country in the CAF Women’s Champions League COSAFA region qualifiers, held at the King Zwelithi stadium, eMlaza.

Sundowns Ladies have won both their group fixtures 6:0 against Lesotho Defense Force of Lesotho and Double Action Ladies of Botswana, and have since qualified for the semi finals of the competition.

The Sundowns team for this tournament is lead by former player Agnes Thandiwe Nkosi, whom has been recently promoted to assistant coach for the Hollywoodbets Super League season by Sundowns. In an effort to empower women leadership in sport, Sundowns gave Nkosi the opportunity to lead the team for the whole tournament.

UWC lost their second place spot after losing to 10-ladies TUT team, 2:0 at home in Bellville. The goals were scored by Koketso Tlailane and Tiisetso Makhubela, to send TUT second on 30 points, 4 points behind log leaders Sundowns but also with 2 more games.

JVW moved to third after securing a 2:0 victory against Ma-Indies, courtesy of goals by experienced Mpumi Nyandeni. Nyandeni is now leading the top scorers race with 13 goals after 14 matches.
