Maritzburg Sign 3 To Boost Chances Of Survival

Maritzburg acquire three ahead of the league second round fixtures said a club in a statement.

Maritzburg United Football Club are delighted to announce the acquisitions of Ali Meza, Bradley Cross and Kwame Peprah.

Meza and Cross will join the Team of Choice on permanent deals whilst Peprah arrives on loan from Orlando Pirates.

The 31-year-old Meza has returned to the Team of Choice after a spell in Bolivia. Meza, a seasoned attacker brings with him a wealth of experience having played in the top-flight football for four seasons which saw him winning two league titles and the Telkom KO.  The Venezuelan has signed a 1 and half year deal for the “Team of Choice” and will be looking to continue the form he displayed during his previous stint which was cut short to a long-term injury.

“I feel very excited to return to the club, I want to thank the club for opening the possibility of me returning to the team again and I hope I can help the team to be in the position they deserve”, added Meza

Together with Meza, Peprah will add additional options in attack for Coach Davids.

The 22-year-old Ghanaian possesses great finishing and playmaking abilities having netted nine goals for the Bucaneers in all competitions in his first DSTV Premiership season. The former King Faisal talisman will move to the Team of Choice on a short-term loan deal until the end of the current 2022/ 23 Season.

The two attacking players will bolster the Team of Choice’s squad and strengthen our attacking prowess.

The 21-year-old Bradley Cross, who is a former South African junior international, has been plying his trade abroad at the likes of Schalke 04 U19, and Newcastle United U23. Cross will bolster the defensive line for the Team of Choice. The left-footed centre-back has signed a 1 and half year deal with a 2-year option at the Team of Choice. Commenting on the arrival of Ali Meza, the Team of Choice head Coach Fadlu Davids said: “Ali Meza is a fantastic player who gives us an attacking option with a different dimension. He knows the club well and we expect a big impact from him after his troubles with injuries. We made his assessment, and he is ready good to go.”
