Janine Van Wyk FC announces squad for SASOL Women’s National League.
Amanda Dlamini, Mpumi Nyandeni, Kaylin Swart, Gabriela Soldado will lead the Gauteng based outfit to their first ever SWNL campaign. These ladies need no introduction when it comes to women’s football. Mpumi Nyandeni has 99 international caps under her belt. She has represented Banyana when it was less fashionable to watch women’s football. The young JVW girls will also look up to Amanda Dlamini, whom also doubles as a television pundit. Dlamini has captained Banyana and led the attack for years. The former UJ striker will be a key player on and off the field. Goalkeeper Kaylin Swart will bring her Banyana World Cup experience on the field.
JVW will fancy their chances as they will face the likes of Mamelodi Sundowns, Bloemfontein Celtic, Durban Ladies, in the quest for a CAF Champions League spot and League Championship.
Mamelodi Sundowns are defending champions, having being declared winners after just 21 games because of COVID_19 in 2020. SAFA have been hesitant in opening amateur and women’s football because some of the clubs did not have sufficient funds to maintain covid regulations.
Football fans who don’t have a ladies team to follow might look at the JVW squad and join their fan base.
