Stellies were looking to make an upward trajectory into the top 8 when they hosted Cape Town City in the Western Cape derby.
The Citizens took charge of proceedings in the 23rd minute from a Thabo Nodada curler. 8 minutes later City took a firm grip of the game as Craig Martin headed a cross in the box. 2-0 it remained in as the ref blew the half time whistle.
None of the teams could add to the scoreline in the second half, but the home team got their consolation goal in the dying minutes of the game through Senkala. Cape Town City claimed a 2-1 victory to move to 3rd place on the log.
