I am a passionate football fan, who is proud of the forth standing platforms as they have remained dearly into people’s hearts. But in this instance I need you to stand with the various continental football federations. As I stand against any invented platform that threatens our long standing memories. TOURNAMENT BRAINSTORMING But I write this because I want FIFA to change their game. I already tried a series of tweets that went unnoticed, However I believe in this idea, so if it could reach the attention of the headquarters, I would be honoured as a football fan. This idea sees FIFA with 5 tournaments. Namely.
• Men’s FIFA World Cup
• Women’s FIFA World Cup
• Men’s FIFA Club World Cup (revamped)
• Women’s FIFA Club World Cup (New Tournament)
• FIFA Confederations Cup
The men’s FIFA World Cup is a juggernaut, widely admired around the globe and appreciated. I believe it is because it comes with the suspense of waiting to see the next one. I for one, watched my first World Cup in 2006, I was 10, Seeing the likes of Philip Lahm scoring that opener, Frings netting that screamer. Falling in love with Zinedine Zidane and asking which club he played for, that leading me to Real Madrid. Forgive those who sin against you my friend, they don’t have a clue what they are doing. FIFA is GOAT.
Moving on, the aim of this idea is to discover another juggernaut of a tournament that will compliment the Men’s FIFA World Cup, my suggestion would be to revamp the current club World Cup. Instead of seeing it every year, let’s see it after four years as well, with 32 football clubs from across the globe. Continental conquerors book an automatic spot in the Club World Cup and with four years running, possible repeats could give the losing finalists a chance to book a place in the tournament. Perhaps a mixture of competitors now brings fresh feel about the tournament.
7 Continental competitions around the globe present 28 different teams qualifying for the Club World Cup, I wish for qualifiers to be flexible. If it’s four different teams winning the continental prize in each continent, losing finalists of each continent play each other (First Round Qualifier). 2 losing finalists progress to play the next round the qualifier. There should be 14 Losing finalists (Second Round Qualifier) before 7 who progress from that round are drawn against each other or with the winner of a knockout Cup/League winner of the host nation. (Third Round Qualifier) will have 8 teams. The winners playing in the host nation’s stadiums automatically fill the 4 remaining spots. And for that tournament, we will have 32 teams.
In case of repeats maybe, I believe losing finalists (if different) they face off until 2 are left to qualify for the next round. In case there is a 2 time losing finalist, it should qualify for the next round with the other two facing off. 3 time losing finalist is a rare case but also books an automatic spot helping the other losing finalist to automatically book a spot to the next round. No semi finalists are to be considered.
SCHEDULING
Scheduling of this tournament is due to be handled by the headquarters but it would be great if it is played during summer.
For the Women’s Club World Cup, we use the same procedure, with continental conquerors automatically selected to participate, but will depend on which are alive and participating. Hopefully there can be 16 team Women’s Club World Cup to start with.
This sees the birth of a new juggernaut in the Club World Cups, as it doesn’t take anything away from the continental football federations’ competitions. It would add more significant in participating in the Champions League of your continent, thus winning it now presents a crazy opportunity, thinking of the football clubs you might possibly be drawn with when it’s time for the tournament. Luckily I love my things the way they are. I would rather see them being changed for better than stand to see some individual tryna kill the beautiful game.
I took scheduling, considering UEFA Because that federation is heavily inspired. And European players and its supporters admire it greatly. I am aware they have 5 tournaments. Two big juggernauts for them.
So it is something I thought could go like,
Annually:
Year 1 – Men’s FIFA WC Year
2 – Women’s FIFA WC Year
3 – Women’s FIFA Club World Cup (during the men’s Euros) Year
4 – Men’s FIFA Club World Cup (During the Women’s Euros)
The Confederations Cup will see itself needing a re-schedule, as I believe the Men and Women’s Club World Cups will be the new juggernauts.
FIFA and UEFA could work hand in hand with the players as they love the competitions. But FIFA would have a tournament every year, each with incredible suspense to the football faithful, it will be the same as UEFA having a tournament every year. This kills any opportunist’s attempt to killing the game, but I want FIFA to catch up to this Federation (UEFA) Before they establish a 6th tournament (Nation’s League for women) and leave FIFA with a few tournaments.
My other wish is to see myself being elected as the person who will choose the winner’s identity for the tournaments. Suggesting that the New Tournament for women will need a new looking trophy, and the Women’s World Cup needs a face-lift, perhaps a new trophy design, I believe in an exquisite looking piece of Silverware.
This is why I hope the Premier League and La Liga never change their iconic winner’s identities. FIFA too, the Men’s World Cup trophy is glorious, the only beautiful trophy on this planet without handles, crazy coincidence that it looks so perfect without them. Men’s Club World Cup needs resize, possibly an increase in its size, a little weight added on it. I hope it looks the same but visibly bigger and looking a bit heavier to those who have lifted it. It was difficult for clubs to win the Club World Cup, the journey to winning it was difficult and with this revamp you add a bit of toughness and Continental winners and qualifiers have an incredible tournament they will play for this trophy, we couldn’t give it the hype it deserves as it was annual. But it will certainly be acknowledged by the football faithful once they know 32 team tournament will be embraced.
Getting your hands on this as soon as possible means you scrap this year’s Club World Cup no matter the winner. They should rather book an automatic spot for the inaugural revamped Club World Club in the year 2025.
SENTIMENTS
This idea was passionately digressed, with the phrase “Long Live Football, as we know it.”
I sincerely hope the headquarters give this attention. It could spark up something amazing. It might be a game changer.
Kudos for the memories, I say, with this, to bringing more and making more.
Love. A passionate but disappointed football supporter.
